Air Quality Monitoring in Armenia: The Project and Data Sources

The "Air Quality in Armenia" service combines air quality data from various sensor networks and publishes summaries and reports.

There's been a lot of talk lately about air pollution and its impact on health, and all this talk isn't groundless: the air in Yerevan and other Armenian cities can indeed be dangerous.

Several air monitoring projects exist:

  • armaqi.org — a volunteer project where people install air quality sensors; you can also join as a volunteer;
  • gis.yerevan.am — a Yerevan municipality project installing air quality sensors at construction sites;
  • and several other smaller projects.

We decided to combine information from the sensors, systematize it, and launch an air quality monitoring project. Detailed reports are available in the air quality section on airquality.am, and on Telegram we automatically publish brief summaries about air conditions — so you can quickly find out anytime how safe it is to be outside right now.

Current data and reports are on the website; brief summaries are also published on Telegram.
