Erebuni lies in southeastern Yerevan across the plain and hills surrounding the ancient fortress. The district faces the railway and road routes leading south and east from the capital.
Erebuni Fortress and Museum, the railway station and David of Sasun Square, and Erebuni Airport are the district's major landmarks. Residential neighbourhoods, extensive private housing, industrial sites, warehouses and transport areas sit close together.
